From the time he was just a toddler banging on pots and pans with plastic serving spoons, it was obvious Jake Gammon possessed an unquenchable passion for music. By the age of six, he was banging on a junior drum kit in the spare bedroom turned studio of his parent's home. Taking his early influence from his parent's CD collection, Jake spent hours playing along with CD's from Classic Rock legends like The Eagles, Bob Seger, Arena Rock icons like Journey, Styx, Foreigner, and everything from Motown to Bakersfield. Jake's musical focus only intensified when he saw Chad Cromwell playing behind Peter Frampton on the "Frampton Live in Detroit" DVD. Upon meeting Chad backstage after a Frampton show later that same year, it was clear that music as a career was the only option for Jake.

While still in his mid-teens, Jake began to make frequent trips to Nashville, TN from his Lexington, KY home to network within the Nashville scene in anticipation of the move to Music City. While in High School, Jake was given the privilege to study with a pair of the industry's best drum clinicians Rich Redmond (Jason Aldean) and Jim Riley (Rascal Flatts). Learning at an early age the business side of music, Jake had been a player for hire since the age of fourteen. His high school years were spent drumming for Lexington based bands like Big River (classic country cover band), Station 313 (Check out the EP Escape the Madness at CD Baby or iTunes, drums and exec producing credit at age 15.), The Moonlighters (an R&B original/cover band), and Funk Seminary (a Motown/80's pop/dance band). Jake would spend summers touring and when home, hustle recording sessions at local studios.

At a very young age Jake had developed a reputation in Central KY as not only a fantastic drummer, but also a mature musician capable of playing on a professional level.

In October 2009, Jake made the long anticipated move to Nashville to continue his pursuit of a career in music. His play continues to reflect that of his influences that range from Stewart Copeland, Keith Carlock, Rich Redmond, and of course Chad Cromwell just to mention a few. Jake believes that if you pay attention to any accomplished player, you can find something to compliment your own style and skill set.

In the Summer of 2011 Jake completed an 11 city tour of Japan as the drummer for "Far from Idol", a project produced by Dallas based Executive Music Group that featured former American Idol finalists. The tour was part of an effort to support our Nations men and women serving in the military abroad.

Since making Nashville his home in 2009, Jake has toured and/or recorded with a host of talented artists. Below are links to just a few:
